The Interface of Leadership and Teams Lab at Virginia Tech needed a logo to represent its research into leadership dynamics and team behavior across the university. I was commissioned to create a mark that felt credible within an academic setting and that connected naturally to the institution’s visual language while still standing on its own. This was one of my earliest professional projects and gave me the opportunity to contribute design work to a university-affiliated research group.
I developed a logo inspired by the geometry of Virginia Tech’s VT symbol, giving the lab a visual link to the broader institution while maintaining its own identity. I also created a set of supporting visuals and mockups to show how the design could work across digital communication and research materials. The final presentation delivered a clear and adaptable logo that gives the ILT Lab a consistent visual anchor for their work.
